PRESTIGIOUS BRITISH ACCREDITATION COUNCIL CONTINUES TO RECOGNISE IIE’S DEDICATION TO PROVIDING QUALITY EDUCATION

Proof that studying at The IIE provides a route to a successful career in SA and abroad

South Africa’s leading private higher education provider, The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE), has yet again been given the international nod of approval by The British Accreditation Council, a leading global accreditation body.

This means that students benefit from knowing that we meet international standards too. The IIE is accredited as an International Higher Education Institution by the British Accreditation Council. Locally and internationally, we have demonstrated the quality of what we offer.

Furthermore, it demonstrates that studying at The IIE provides a route to a successful career here and abroad given that The BAC evaluates institutions against a set of globally recognised quality standards.

The IIE was first accredited by The British Accreditation Council (The BAC) in 2014, then the only higher education provider in the country to be recognised by the prestigious body. It was re-accredited last month, once more confirming international confidence in the quality of IIE’s education.

The BAC is an independent authority in the UK that accredits private providers there and in other countries including Greece, Switzerland, Singapore, India, Mauritius and the United Arab Emirates.

The BAC accreditation represents a major feather in the cap for The IIE, as it is an objective confirmation that world-class standards have been maintained.

In their report, the BAC inspectors commended The IIE’s student-centred approach, their effective management structure, the calibre of their academic staff, students’ high levels of academic achievement, the vast range of resources accessible via the information centres, the safety and cleanliness of campuses, and their vast array of student support mechanisms.

Peter Kriel, General Manager of The IIE, says BAC accreditation is only achieved as a result of achieving the highest quality of academic excellence, and the ability to demonstrate this through stringent and rigorous policies and processes on an ongoing basis.

“We are therefore extremely proud of this significant achievement and what it means for our students. It is also important for the private education sector as a whole because it plays an important part in improving both access to and the quality of education in the country.

“We believe that for the sector to continue growing and offering prospective students the best possible educational experience, it is incumbent on private higher education providers to not just claim to offer a superior route towards career success, but also prove their ability to do so through independent, objective and internationally recognised adjudication.”

The IIE is registered with the DHET as a private higher education institution to provide higher education programmes under the Higher Education Act, 1997. IIE qualifications are accredited by the CHE, and IIE Vega, IIE Varsity College, IIE Rosebank College and IIE MSA are brands of The IIE. The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE) is a division of the JSE-listed ADvTECH Group, Africa’s largest private education provider.
